From a first project together at INNOQ to a growing company. Here is the road that led to Entropy Data.

2018
- Simon joins INNOQ (Jochen had joined in 2017).
- Simon and Jochen work together for 3 years at the Breuninger Dom project.
- From a project team to a hypothesis-driven product team.
2021

Simon and Jochen enter the world of data (mesh).
2022
- Publish datamesh-architecture.com.
- Publish the Data Product Canvas.
- First Data Mesh workshop at Software Architecture Summit.
2023
- Publish German translation of Zhamak Dehghani's Data Mesh book.
- Create datacontract.com and the Data Contract Specification.
- Create Data Contract CLI as open-source project.
- Idea for Data Mesh Manager emerged within a consulting project.
- Win the consulting client as pilot customer.
2024
- Data Mesh Manager in production with pilot customer.
- Simon and Jochen join the TSC of Bitol (Linux Foundation).
2025
- Spin-off from INNOQ as Entropy Data GmbH with 4 employees.
- Rebrand to Entropy Data.
- ISO 27001 certified.
- Bootstrapped and profitable.
2026
- Grow to 6 employees.
- More than 10 customers across 3 continents 🇺🇸 🇬🇧 🇩🇪 🇫🇷 🇨🇭 🇩🇰 🇧🇪 🇦🇺.
- Joined the TechBoost startup program by Deutsche Telekom.
- Finalist in the BARC Start-up Award for Data & AI.
